Overview

KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide fragment of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone. It carries the anti-inflammatory power of alpha-MSH without the melanocortin receptor pigmentation effects.

Small peptide. Big anti-inflammatory footprint. Especially in the gut.

Mechanism of action

  1. 01Suppresses NF-kB signaling in enterocytes and immune cells.
  2. 02Reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine release including TNF-alpha and IL-6.
  3. 03Inhibits mast cell degranulation in dermal and mucosal tissue.
  4. 04Acts independent of MC1R melanocortin receptor. No pigmentation change.
  5. 05Uptake via PepT1 transporter delivers KPV directly to inflamed intestinal tissue.
