The prescribing platform for veterinary peptide medicine. For licensed veterinarians.

Peptide Education Library

The science, in plain and precise language.

A peptide is a short chain of amino acids. A tiny, naturally occurring messenger that tells the body to heal, repair, restore balance. Every mammal already relies on them. These monographs explain the peptides and blends in our launch formulary, and the real research behind peptide medicine for dogs and cats.

Compounded and shipped from a 503A pharmacy licensed for veterinary compounding, and prescribed by a licensed veterinarian for a specific patient.

Research spotlight

Peptide medicine for pets is real, and published.

Short summaries of actual studies of peptides in dogs and cats. Educational, and cited. Some involve peptides beyond our formulary, included because they show how far the science has come.

BPC-157Dogs and ratsOn our formulary

Mapping how BPC-157 behaves in the canine body

A 2022 study in Frontiers in Pharmacology characterized the pharmacokinetics, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of BPC-157 in rats and beagle dogs. The researchers followed how the peptide is absorbed after dosing, where it travels in the body, and how quickly it clears.

Species-specific data like this is the foundation of responsible veterinary use. It is exactly what lets a veterinarian reason about dosing and timing in a dog rather than extrapolating blindly from other species. BPC-157 carries one of the deepest safety and mechanism literatures of any peptide in our formulary.

ElamipretideDogsBeyond our formulary

A mitochondrial peptide studied directly in dogs with heart failure

In a study published in Circulation: Heart Failure, dogs with advanced heart failure received chronic therapy with elamipretide, a mitochondria-targeting peptide. The researchers reported improvements in left ventricular function and in measures of mitochondrial function. A later 2019 study in ESC Heart Failure examined its effects on skeletal muscle in dogs with induced heart failure.

Elamipretide sits outside our launch formulary. We include it because it is a clear example of a peptide studied directly in dogs, at a serious clinical endpoint, that has also advanced into human cardiac trials. Peptide medicine for companion animals is being taken seriously by cardiologists, not just wellness circles.

CapromorelinDogs and catsBeyond our formulary

An FDA-approved peptide therapy already in use for dogs and cats

Capromorelin is a peptide that activates the ghrelin receptor. It is FDA-approved as Entyce for stimulating appetite in dogs, and as Elura for managing weight loss in cats with chronic kidney disease. Published work has documented its ability to increase appetite and food intake in dogs.

This is the single most important point about the category. Peptide medicine for pets is not theoretical. A peptide therapy has already cleared the FDA's veterinary approval process for both dogs and cats and is prescribed in clinics today. The science is legitimate, and it is already here.
